I can hardly wait! Rick Springfield has been an icon for as long as I can remember. His music spoke to my soul in a way that nothing else could at that time. It's funny how music has a way of meeting us where we are and speaking to us in a language that we can understand. Even now, whenever I listen to his songs, I often find myself changing the wording to make it more personal to my own life experiences.
One song in particular, "I've Done Everything for You," resonates with me on a deeper level. It reminds me that one day, I will stand before God and give an account of my life. I try my best to live my life for Christ, but I know that I often fall short. It all goes back to our choices in this life. My deepest desire is to hear God say, "Well done, Michael. You gave your all for me. " I guess there's no better time to start than now, right?
Despite my failures, I am continually learning about the grace and mercy of God. It's in those moments of weakness that I realize how much I need Him and how much He loves me. I am so grateful for His boundless grace and mercy.
As I look forward to seeing Rick Springfield in concert with my wife, who is my most prized possession on this earth and a gift from God, I am filled with joy and even a little anticipation...something to look forward to. We have grass seats at the Civic Center, and I know it's going to be an incredible experience. Who knows, maybe one day I'll even have the courage to tell my life story through a parody of some of Rick Springfield's music! For now, I'm just grateful for the opportunity to enjoy his music and spend time with the one I love.
I've got to brush up on the piano and clear off the cobwebs.
