On January the 24th, a Tuesday at 7 Ami went in for surgery to have my left total knee replaces. The doctor had spoken to me about correcting my bow leg. He didn't know how much he could correct until he was in surgery.
My one night in the hospital was pleasant. It was almost like being home. For those who remember, I was part of the Mercy family im the 80's. I was the first of many in roles I never imagined or planned. Great years! and on a side note, I'm still in touch with many of its family members from years gone by.
I had a pain ball for three days after surgery, so those days were relatively easy, I mean, other than feeling like I had been hit by a truck. I couldn't lose my I've. What I learned was that the doctor was able to correct some of my bow leg , and in doing so had to stretch my tendon's. It was just a new kind of pain. A pain I had not experienced before period because I have a headache issues I try to be cognizant of addiction. I am thankful I have learned to live through such pain.
The recovery process has been much slower than my past surgeries......and I've had many. The good news is, I have seen improvement everyday. Even if its a little improvement, tis better than no progress at all. Since the surgery I have had difficulty bending my leg back in order to sit. It has been my goal to be able to place both my feet in a upright position of sitting.

This happened today.....20 days post op. I am pleased. I've been working on transitioning to a cane full time tomorrow. Physical therapy has helped. I've learned a lot through this surgery. I'm still learning to be still.
