I met with my surgeon yesterday and he agreed the screw in my right big toe needs to come out. He also said he would see to it the surgery is done sooner than later. Today , the following day after my appointment, I received word pre op is Monday and surgery is next Friday. I have never in my life had a doctor be so prompt in getting me in for surgery. It is a relatively non-invasive surgery. I should heal quickly and be able to once again submerge myself in a body of water, like the lake, or a pool, a jacuzzi or ........... I am really looking forward to being able to put my toes in the sand the next time I am on the beach..............there's nothing better. Well, 'nothing' may be a reach.
As for the bleeding that has been going on for the past year to year and a half and having seen a multitude of doctors, including a visit to Davis a couple of months ago, I have come to the conclusion the culprit of my being anemic and having a low RBC (red blood cell) count, as well a low hemoglobin is Tylenol. I had been told to stop taking ibuprofin sometime back, and I stopped taking it immediately, but the problem persisted. Nobody has ever told me Tylenol can eat away at a person's liver. I have been told, by more than one doctor my liver looks as though I have been a drinker for many years. They all seemed baffle at the damage done to my liver, and the fact I do not drink.
I have not taken a tylenol for the past couple of days, and though my body knows it I am working through the pain. I am thankful for my medicinal medication which, thus far has not been too harmful on my body. No side effects......well, other than the occasional stupidity, I own it.
My question goes out to those who may know. Maybe you have experience with this, or any of my VN's, RN's BSN's or M.D. friends can weigh in........please. What is an Over the Counter, or, OTC as it is in the medical community I can take that has no ibuprofin or acetemephatine in it? Basically, a pain controller with no ibuprofin or tylenol in its ingredients.
In other news, my A1C, which tells me how well my diabetes is controlled couldn't be more perfect. My doctor was impressed.....yet again. My A1C is 4.7. As well, as an avid gym goer, the benefit has paid off. I have gone down to 2.5mg of llisinipril from 20. This is great news! The only reason he has kept me on a low dose of the medication is that it helps protect another organ......I play piano....un pacquito.
Will update more later.....Until then.
I am suppose to go back to Davis for further testing,.....and I will, however, I'm fairly confident I've found the culprit of my blood loss.
